Flowerball

A colorful artwork by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, Flowerball is a limited edition silkscreen print of 300 pieces hand-signed and numbered. It was created in 2018 and has a diameter of 71 cm.

It shows Takashi Murakami's well-known subject Flower, the smiling flower symbol of harmony and happiness, in a composition that gives the illusion of a spherical shape in which the colour red prevails.

Just as in the art of Andy Warhol, mass culture is a characteristic feature of the works of artist Takashi Murakami: works such as Flower, Mr. DOB and the Arhat cycle perfectly mix anime and manga references with the world of Pop Art. Takashi Murakami has thus become one of the most popular Japanese artists, and his iconic Superflat style is today a reference point for many other artists.
