H9-5 Honesty is the fifth of the The Virtues series, which fuses together the meaning of Japan's symbolic plant with the eight virtues of the Bushidō code of conduct, written by Inazō Nitobe. The writer believes that lying and equivocation are cowardly. Nitobe states that the samurai were synonymous with honesty and that their word carried such weight that their promises were usually kept, and often without any written agreement.

The work Honesty (The Virtues, H9-5) measures 120x96 cm and was created with a laminated Giclée print on an aluminium composite panel.
