David Gerstein, born on November 14, 1944, is an Israeli painter, sculptor, draftsman, and printmaker. Initially a figurative painter and recipient of the Israel Museum Prize for illustration, he later expanded into three-dimensional art. In the late 1970s, he began creating iconic cutout images that stand freely in space, breaking away from traditional framed formats.
