The city of Mumbai, much like every other city never seems to fall asleep yet for the past two years everything seems to have gone into a deep slumber waking up only to sustain itself.

The Artist, Yash Majlekar, has often found himself sitting by the window looking at the lights around him twinkling like the night sky on land and yet this slumber is something he could not adjust himself to believe but knew was impending.

In this organic painting, he brings the light and colours back to life. A heavily layered painting, each layer signifying the passing of a day.

A debutant artist with The Designera is a veteran in the field of art for the last 20 years and attained his formal education from the prestigious JJ School of Arts, Mumbai.

Pravin has always been fascinated by pop culture and he debuts with his sculpture: Art Going Bananas.

The artwork is a rendition of the popular character Minion, in a Louis Vuitton dungaree while holding a golden banana.

Apart from creating a high fashion statement, Pravin also used the banana as a reference to an extremely controversial work: The Comedian, a work by Maurizio Cattelan, which had a banana duct-taped to the wall.

The work was allegedly sold for an exorbitant amount giving Pravin the idea of it being a Golden Fruit.

A debutant artist with The Designera and a ponderer of strange scenarios, Viditi paints the two equivocal worlds colliding into each other. In this painting, "The Pixelating Metaverse", she imagines the paradoxical collision of two impossible worlds.

As presented we have the classical painting, Oath of Horatio from the classical Romanticism period going through a power struggle with the minions from the Pixar universe as one reaches for the epitome of prizes: Bananas!

Viditi’s mastery of the brush is signified with her complex painting of the glitch and pixelation, and extended to the imperfect frame that completes “The Pixelating Metaverse”.

“The Silver Lining” series beautifully utilize

“The Silver Lining” series beautifully utilizes one of the most complex mediums: silver and gold leaf. In this series, the artist paints stunning portraits set on a bed of silver or gold leaf, with each part of the foil on the backdrop meticulously placed.

This series tackles the idealized standard of feminine beauty, with the reflective leaf as a backdrop. The artist uses the forms displayed from covers of magazines as beauty benchmarks, dissected away from their backdrop and placed on metallic leaf, resembling a mirror - the quintessential symbol of vanity.
